I wanted to take a moment and say thank you to everyone who has supported our campaign for School Board. I am humbled by the experience and can honestly say it was truly an honor to have this opportunity. For me this opportunity, as well as our great showing were not due to any specific efforts on my part, but were possible due to the support, involvement and commitment of my family, friends and many supporters. Although we did not win, this campaign was a true success in the end and it was successful due to everyone who was involved. I could not have done it with out those individuals involvement, for that I am grateful.

  For me, this is has been a learning experience. I feel that I am a better person due to this experience and will continue to seek ways I can get involved and give back to this community. While I am disappointed that I will not have the opportunity to have a run-off against her, I would also like to congratulate Dee Dee Rasmussen for her campaign and wish her the best of luck as she starts her new job as the new representative for District 4 on the Leon County School Board. I feel that the voters have made a good choice and wish her the very best.

 I would also like to recognize the others in this race who put themselves out there and decided to run for office. Rosa Lovett, Jose Lorenzo and Floyd Self all ran exceptional campaigns. I wish them the very best of luck in whatever they decide to do in the future.
